Which SME policies are in jeopardy following election?

13-06-2017

The outcome of the general election could lead to several small business policies being kicked into the long grass, experts predict. Statutory rights for workers, including time off for bereavement, and worker representation on boards are unlikely to be clarified soon, while the rollout of Making Tax Digital and a full review of the UK’s business rates system are also likely to be delayed. There are also concerns among small business leaders that proposals for an export voucher scheme, which would have offered first-time exporters a small subsidy to access advice on overseas trading, will not have the support of a weakened Tory government.
