MTD deadline missed by half of taxpayers

Nearly 50% of eligible taxpayers missed the first deadline for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, according to Azets, with just 436,000 out of 864,000 taxpayers filing their updates on time. Fraser Campbell, UK head of accountancy services at Azets, noted that the steep learning curve and HMRC system issues contributed to the delays.
